We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

That plot twist though- 

“We are liars. We are beautiful and privileged. We are cracked and broken.”

I honestly think this one is just hated because everyone got all icky about it after seeing other reviews. But as always, I respect all of your guys' opinions :)

However, I will not be reading Family of Liars to preserve the awesomeness. So many series have been ruined by their later books and I refuse to let that happen (ex. Divergent). 

“What if we could stop being different colors, different backgrounds, and just be in love?”
